JESUS IS LORD

Posted by Ricky Kharkongor on July 25, 2009

Rick.

God works. He is still working today. He will continue to work by His power and through each and every one of us– His Church.

God also works according to His time, season and moment.

The Bible speaks about the due seasons (Deut 11:13,14, Psalms 104: 27, Psalms145:15, Matthew 24;45, Galatians 6:9).

The Bible  also speaks about the set times (Genesis 17:21, Genesis 21:2, Exodus 9:5, 1 Samuel 13:8, Job 14:13, Psalms 102:13).

These are times where something new happens – a new beginning or a breakthrough or a broadening.

God is never late. He is always on time.

He does all things in His time – the right time.

There is new day awaiting all of us. We are and must be ready for it. Ahead of us is the fresh unfolding of God’s new move and His fresh manifestation.  Kairos a Greek word signifies God’s time and is the time where God breaks into the mundane, the ordinary and the habitual way of life.

The Holy Spirit will continue to do a new thing upon the Body of Christ worldwide. The Holy Spirit will always continue to touch and transform His people. Times of refreshing will come from the Lord to prepare us.

Let’s not stay the same. Let us seek the Lord with all our hearts today. We are to progress. Kairos time is also a time to take action. It is God’s time for us to act. It could be God’s time for you to take a lead while others are standing by the sidelines.  It could be God’s day for your church for your new assignment, or to proceed to the next spiritual level, to enter into a new phase of Church growth and or for your city for a fresh wave of Revival.

God is great. He desires to do something great in and through us. He does have a plan and destiny for all of us who love Him and seek Him. It could be an enormous plan and a powerful destiny.

“To everything there is a season, a time for every

purpose under heaven” (Eccl 3:1).

Are we ready?

Welcome to our web and the Touching Asia Project:

Dear beloved friends in Christ, we are so happy you have dropped in here. We hope and trust that you will be blessed as you read the various contents in this webpage. It is our prayer that the Lord will do a new thing in your life. May the Lord Jesus touch your life and speak to you in a very special way.

Our threefold passion is *to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, teach and make disciples, train and equip people of God for the works of the ministry  **to promote renewal and be a channel of His last day Revival of the Holy Spirit  for growth,  maturity  and spiritual progress   ***to connect with saints and servants of God of like precious faith worldwide for building up one another.

We therefore take this privilege to invite you to partner with us to reach Asia for Christ if you also share this passion with us for the Kingdom of God. We all have a part and a calling to reach the people to Christ. By our partnership in the Gospel we hope to do greater things together in this nation or in your nation and the nations of the world. Please do not hesitate to write to us.

May Christ’s love and strength be upon you always.

Why do we need the Fire of God today?

Posted by Ricky Kharkongor on May 30, 2009

RIC

Why do we need the Fire of God in the Church today?

There are four reasons why we seriously and sincerely need the Fire of the Holy Spirit today.

  1. Fire of God for the Purity of the Church

  2. Fire of God for the Power of God in the Church

  3. Fire of God for the Progress of the Church

  4. Fire of God for the Passion for God in the Church

The Purity of the Church:

1 John 3: 2,3 says: “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure”.

We know that there will be a glorious climax with the marriage of the Church as the Bride of Christ to Jesus Christ, the Bridegroom. This will lead to a great rejoicing throughout the universe.

The Church has to get herself ready for this day.

But the question is have we lived purified lives? Has the Church prepared and lived in purity by righteous acts? Have we prepared ourselves for the coming of the Lord? The Bible says whoever has this hope in him purifies himself just as He is pure (1 John 3:3).

It is the Fire of God that changes us to live a life purified and holy before God. We urgently need the Baptism of Fire today.

The Power of God in and through the Church:

“And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all” (Acts 4: 33).

The Fire of God is the power of God in and through the Church. If the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is to fulfill the mandate entrusted upon us it will be done so by the power of God.

God has not left us – His Church – all alone and as orphans. God has not left the Body of Christ spiritless and devoid of power. God is sending a breakthrough of His power upon the Church. God is sending His awakening and His outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon all who are hungry and desperate for the move of God.

2 Chronicles 16:9 says: “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him”.

It is God’s plan and intention to reveal His mighty power in these last days. The Church will rise up with greater power to touch and change the world. The best is yet to come.

The Progress of the Church:

The Acts of the Apostles is indeed the Acts of the Holy Spirit as we read the Book of Acts. There was rapid move and manifestation of the Fire of God widely spreading everywhere.

We are living today in the last day Outpouring of the Holy Spirit. There is a greater burden and concern in the lives of many ministers of the Gospel to reach the un-reached, touch the untouched and church the un-churched. Everywhere men and women of God are hungry and crying out to be used by God for His Kingdom. Many people and servants of God in the different nations of the world believe that their nation will be used by God to touch and bless the world. There is great sense of awareness for missions. The Holy Spirit is stirring up and quickening spiritual fathers and mothers who will rise up to bless and motivate the young generation to fulfill their God-given callings in the Church. There is a great spiritual preparation for greater and miraculous days ahead – before the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are to preach the Kingdom of God by the Fire of the Holy Spirit and He will build His Church.

Our goal is also to fulfill the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ to preach the Gospel to every creature. We know today there are about 16000 people groups which are still un-reached. The Church has an enormous responsibility to present the Gospel to every soul. World evangelization and world missions will not be accomplished until these 16000 un-reached peoples are given the Gospel and won to Christ. But nevertheless we can do it by the Fire of the Holy Spirit.

The Passion for God in the Church:

The Fire of the Holy Spirit brings the passion of God deep in us.

One of the attitudes in the Church which displeases our Lord is lukewarmness. We are to be on fire. We need to live a burning life. We are to have a passion for God so deep and real – so great that nothing can hinder us from our intimacy with Him.

Passion for God comes from communicating and cleansing – communicating with God and cleansing our lives before Him.

The command of our Lord Jesus Christ is to love God with all our hearts, our souls, our minds and our strength.  We develop a close relationship with God as a result of this well-knitted fellowship with our Heavenly Father. Passion for God comes from the love that we have for Him and so the communication that we built up with Him to seek His face daily. Jesus says: “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment” (Mark 12:30).

Passion for God also results from our deep desire to live a clean and purified life. We are indeed to cleanse our hearts, our souls and our minds.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me” (Psalms 51:10)

“Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart” (Psalms 26:2).

We need to have a passion for God. If we sincerely long for a change in our lives then we need to have a passion for God. Passion for God will set us right with God. We love Him with our first love. This passion emerges out from lives and hearts sanctified by the Fire of God aligned with the Word of God. A life on fire for God is the life where we have a passion to possess the likeness of Christ.

People whom I Appreciate and Admire

Posted by Ricky Kharkongor on March 13, 2009

dennis1

Pastor Dennis Balcombe

Pastor Dennis Balcombe, born in California found the Lord at the age of sixteen. Pastor Dennis completed his graduation from high school where he then attended the Assemblies of God Southern California Bible College. He was drafted into the US army and sent to Vietnam where he served for one year. Right from the time when he committed his life to Christ in 1961, he felt a strong call to come to China. When he visited Hong Kong, Dennis felt strongly that the Lord would have him come back to this place and prepare a ministry to touch and bless China.

In April of 1969, when he was discharged from the army he did return to Hong Kong. It was within 8 months that he had learned enough Cantonese to start a church. He remains the pastor of this church now touching nearly about 40 years.

We express deep appreciation for Pastor Dennis for the wholehearted commitment that he has for the Chinese people. These forty years of ministry in Hong Kong and China had in fact touched China and the whole world. In spite of severe persecutions and oppositions to Christianity and to the work of the ministry yet Pastor Dennis has endured and persisted.

Due to this faithfulness in those early days that the Lord blessed the work of the church and after two years nearly 100 people had found the Lord. At the end of two years, Pastor Dennis then returned to the USA and married Kathy Biffell, who as the daughter of American missionaries, had been raised in Thailand. Pastor Dennis has two children Sharon, who is now also a full time missionary to Hong Kong and China and Michael who also lives and works in Hong Kong. Sharon is also very fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English. It was in a Revival Alliance Conference in Hong Kong that I personally heard her speak and minister in Mandarin. She is married to Pastor Samuel Lau in April 1995 at Revival Church.

Pastor Dennis’ primary vision is for China. Hence since 1988 Dennis was deeply involved in teaching the house church leaders in China.  Pastor Dennis and his co-workers would minister to several hundred preachers and servants of God here for up to 12 hours daily with even several days in a row. According to him, he finds that the Chinese people are desperate for God and have a deep and genuine hunger for God. Pastor Dennis Balcombe says: “There’s no place in the world like China where there’s such a special hunger. The Charismatic renewal has penetrated every part of the Christian Church, bringing new life and power to the Body of Christ. Revival of the Holy Spirit is spreading at a very rapid pace in China. There are reports of signs and wonders, miracles and mighty works of the Holy Spirit in this great nation. Many blind, paralyzed people were healed, a dead child restored to life resulting in the whole area and village to come to the Lord. Sunday school children were lifted to heaven during meetings in a Bible retreat where over 100 children gather for singsongs and teaching sessions. Due to the great revival and rapid increase in believers, the churches in China are not able to keep up with their basic needs as Bibles, less ministers (pastors) to baptize the believers where daily hundred of new believers request water baptism. Many wait hours before they can be baptized. Next is the training of workers where it is easy to start ten new churches daily but very difficult to train new shepherds”.

Hence one of the main areas of ministry of the Revival Christian Church has been to provide Bibles and teaching materials to the tens of thousands of unregistered house churches that are scattered across China. It has been seen that every year thousands of people from everywhere around the world have come to participate in the ministry of “Donkeys for Jesus” in order to carry Bibles to China. These thousands have successfully assisted in bringing over 8 million Bibles and other books into China. This work has been continuing till this day where each month thousands of bibles and teaching materials are taken into China and given to the hands of the house church leaders.

It was from 1990 that Pastor Dennis and some of his team have been involved in ministry in a much greater way with teaching, evangelism, outreach and church planting in many different nations of the world. This apostolic ministry has touched nations where Pastor Dennis and the team have been traveling into nations such as India, Myanmar, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Nepal, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, France, Italy, Germany, Brazil, United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Israel, Romania, and several other nations. The ministry of Pastor Dennis Balcombe has been instrumental not only to revive the Church worldwide but also as a servant of Christ to minister as one of the Christian world-leaders today.

I have personally been blessed and challenged by the life and ministry of Pastor Dennis Balcombe who therefore receives a deep admiration, love and appreciation. He is truly a spiritual father in Christ.

Dr John Edmund Haggai
Dr John Edmund Haggai, founder and president of Haggai Institute for Advanced Leadership Training is an internationally acclaimed author, lecturer, and “leader of leaders.”
In 60 years of public service John Edmund Haggai has pastored four Churches, held crusades around the world and established an advanced leadership training program which has over 59,000 alumni in 177 countries and territories. A world Christian statesman who has crisscrossed six continents, circled the globe 98 times and met numerous heads of states.
Dr John Edmund Haggai is a man of vision who is consumed with a great burden, committed to a goal and convinced with such an unrelenting belief that the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ is to be obeyed.
John Edmund Haggai and his wife Christine live in Atlanta, Georgia where their influence has touch millions of people all around the world.
Haggai Institute was founded in 1969 to equip Asian, African and Latin American Christian leaders — who will train others — to reach their own people for Christ. Dr John Edmund Haggai found that the world is changing. He strongly felt that the traditional missionary movement began in 1792 when William Carey challenged European Christians to take the Gospel to all nations was born during a unique socio-political situation and that no longer exists. Western governments were, at that stage, in nearly total control of most of Asia, Africa and Latin America. This is no longer the case today where millions of people live in countries that either bureaucratically discourage or openly prohibit foreign missionary efforts. Yet we still have the Great Commission of Jesus Christ to evangelize the world. The new approach is to reach the world by reaching those people who will in turn reach their own with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We do express great appreciation for the immense work of Dr John Edmund Haggai on evangelism and his global leadership in the ministry.

Pastor Stephen George

Pastor Stephen George, born in a Christian family whose parents Pastor Maxwell and Sushila George had pastored the ‘Bethel” Church at Agra for about 40 years.

Their ministry in North India resulted in raising and sending at least 40 evangelists from this Church at Agra who started churches all over North India.

Stephen committed his life to the Lord at an early age of 11 years.

At the age of nineteen, Stephen committed his life to the cause of the Gospel and came back to help his parents in the church ministry.

At 23 years of age he became the Pastor of the Church at the home going of his father.

It was in this same year that he also started holding Gospel Healing Crusades, by divine direction throughout hundreds of cities and towns all over North, North-East, Western and Central India, sometimes as many as about 40 Mass Crusades a year, bringing thousands of souls to the Lord each year.

The Beam-India and the Beam International (U.K), have been reaching the unreached now for many years in India and the nations of the World. The emphasis has been on the salvation of souls through Gospel Crusades, healing of the physical body, discipline and training of Gospel Workers through Workers Seminars and Caring for Orphans through Beam India Children’s Home. BEAM International Inc came into existence in the year of 2002 for the purpose of reaching, teaching, and equipping men & women throughout the United States.

We do have a great respect and admiration for this precious man of God especially because of the powerful anointing of God, the love and compassion of God upon his life. He carries this precious anointing and many precious lives have been blessed and changed in this nation of India.

Brother Sam Jebadurai

Brother Sam Jebadurai from Chennai in South India is a man of God with the Word fresh from God and the power of God which has touched many lives in this nation and around the world.

Brother Sam Jebadurai has so far written more than 650 books. His books have been a blessing and well read by students of Bible Colleges and evangelists who serve God. He was conferred Doctorates in three Universities in U.S.A viz…1.International Theology Seminary of California 2. International Institute of Church Management, U.S.A & 3. Cornerstone University, Texas, U.S.A. He was awarded for the spreading of the Gospel by his preaching and his literary service.

Brother Sam Jebadurai has been holding Fire Camps and Anointing meetings where thousands of people from South India attend these programs. I was amazed and deeply surprised when I saw thousands of people in these meetings of near Chennai hungry for the power and the fire of God in the Fire Camp that they had. Early morning from 4 AM worship started and they had started to pray and seek God’s face where the meetings would end till late 11 PM. So great was their hunger for God. On the first day when we met Sam Jebadurai told: “Pastor Ricky, I am greatly challenged when I went to South Korea and saw and experienced the fire of God here and the deep hunger that these people have for God. It is my desire and prayer that this fire will also come upon the people of India”.

Brother Sam Jebadurai is therefore loved and respected because of his firm commitment to see our nation India and the other nations touched and transformed by the Fire of the Holy Spirit. We do highly appreciate this precious man of God.

Never stop to dream

ours1

There is always a reason why God has sent you into this world. God has great plans for each and every one of us. God has good and great thoughts for each of us who serve Him. His plans for us are the best ever. We sometimes long for something good, or even something better, but His desire is to give us His best. God has a blessed future for His children. It is a future of hope and a future which shines brighter by the day. God’s plan for His people is to grow and flourish.

“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day” (Proverbs 4:18)

“The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon” (Psalms 92:12)

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee” (Psalms 84:11, 12).

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Your dream is what you see for your future. It is like an eye into your future.

This tiny dream in us has to grow in our hearts. It is possible that the Lord can show you many different things which are still yet unaccomplished, still yet untouched, things left undone in the work of the Lord.

God is still calling us today to fill in the gap. We must never bury that dream given to us. We must never let it die and wither away. That can be an opening where the Lord will do great things though your life and your ministry. We are not to forget that we are all so special and unique to God. We may be ordinary beings yet we can perform extraordinary works and fulfill His call. Our God is an extraordinary God. We can live a life as God’s vessels simple yet significant, ordinary yet with such extraordinary callings. He has said: “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not” (Jeremiah 33:3).

Nevertheless, if we are to succeed in life we are to watch out for dream killers.

We need to be aware that not many are excited with what God has put in your heart. They will be out to destroy that dream that you have, create closed doors for you, hinder you from proceeding forward, bringing disappointments to you along the way, all with a purpose to kill the dream that you may have for the Glory of God.

What can tear down your dream?

Self- satisfaction and complacency sets in when we are content only with a second best or an average. Sometimes things are done only as a routine or a duty. Our dreams will not unfold if what we do does not emerge out from the core of our innermost being.

Stumbling blocks can put an end to your dreams. The dreams which God has put in your heart may cause to bring about a change in the system. It could be a ground-breaking and pioneering work, a work which could turn away from tradition. This kind of dream is bound to face hurdles as many do not like change. If we give in to these hurdles it could diminish or destroy our dreams.

Stagnation will not make us fulfill our God-given dreams. Many of us and even leaders stagnate after years of ministry. This attitude will deviate us from accomplishing our dreams. We need to have a long-term plan for our lives and our ministries.  We can then work on this so as we do not come to a stand still.

Jesus loves you!!!

(From the upcoming book: “Live the Life! Positioning yourself for the best” by Pastor Ricky Kharkongor)

______________________________________________

The book “Live the life! Positioning yourself for the best” has been written at such a time when the world has been undergoing a global financial crisis. The book has been completed on January 2009. I do strongly believe that there is God’s message for the people of God through this book. It is crucial that as God’s people we ought to position ourselves according to what He has prepared and planned for us according to His Word. There is a new day awaiting us. His power which will be revealed to us is so close at hand. It is also a book for all those who have been fast losing hope and lives shattered. Maybe it could be sickness, pain, suffering, tensions, abuse, fear and worry. This book is definitely for you and the people of your congregation. The Chapters include: Victory belongs to you, A positive way of life, Wholeheartedly committed, Rising above and ruling over every fear, Increasing more and more, Never stop to dream, Running with the vision and Disciplined for success
